Trade Show

By Jane Sun on October, 2017

The trade show was the project's public finale. I handled the final deployment to the project server, wrote the pitch script that guided the team through the demonstration, and prepared the exhibition stand. A few last-minute refinements to the website ensured the product was in its best state for the live audience.

The presentation was well received — the team won the People's Choice Award from our session. Audience feedback highlighted promising directions for the next iteration: a sign-up system to build a community of contributors, and a roadmap for expanding the platform into a more comprehensive music heritage product. Applying the lesson from earlier in the project, the team had rehearsed the pitch and live demo several times beforehand, which made a measurable difference in delivery quality.

Reflection: Winning the audience vote was a satisfying validation of the concept and the effort the team invested across all three project phases. The feedback collected at the trade show would form a clear brief for the next design cycle — particularly around user onboarding and community features. The project reinforced that consistent quality control throughout the process, rather than a last-minute push, is what produces a result worth presenting.
